Pulpwood Queens Weekend Author Extravaganza

As a relatively new published author, I was honored to be a part of the Pulpwood Queens Girlfriend Weekend Author Extravaganza last January in Nacoghdoches, Texas. Pulpwood Queens originated in 2000 as a local book club that soon grew into an “international phenomenon”, according to the Dallas Morning News. In the past, Pulpwood Queens Weekend has featured nationally accredited authors like Paula McLain, Ann Weisgarber, and Lisa Wingate, just to name a few. In fact, founder and author Kathy Murphy has been recognized by the Oprah Winfrey Network and shows like Good Morning America for her creation of the book club. She’s also known for her one-of-a-kind book/beauty store, Beauty and the Book, combining both of her passions.

I was lucky enough to attend the conference as a featured author last January and even spoke about Love of Finished Years on one of their author panels. I felt extra privileged when my book was Pulpwood Queens’ “book of the month” last April. I was able to hold a book signing and have since done Facetime appearances with local book club chapters. I have such fond memories from this extravaganza and am excited to go back!

This year, the festivities are moving from Nacogdoches to Jefferson, Texas. The convention will take place at the Jefferson Tourism & Transportation Convention center from January 17th-19th. This relocation comes as no surprise as Jefferson is where everything- the book club, Beauty and the Book, and the conference itself- all began.
